First Thanksgiving
We are SO GRATEFUL for our little turkey!!
Grandma Wanda and Grandpa Hank were here for Thanksgiving, and we had our Thanksgiving dinner at Great Grandma Doris' house in the Palisades. LOTS of hugs + delicious food
(or, delicious milk, for the newborns in the group).
Dad feeding the baby for the 1st time!*
*Special thanks to Marce Johnson for giving us the technology + bottles to make this happen!
Our First Christmas as a family has begun!

Our last few weeks, pre-baby...
On Saturday, Tom spoke on a panel at a Pepperdine University retreat. He was commended by ALL on his unique ability to speak from his heart, give insight from an alumnus' perspective, and tie in God's Word throughout. Plus (of course), we can attribute harsher laugh-lines in our faces to Tom's perfect humor.
We left this retreat in Palos Verdes, to have a picnic lunch on Manhattan Beach and play Frisbee! Perfect Indian Summer Day!
- Sunday, October 9, 2011, we celebrated our 6- month wedding anniversary! We went to our new church, In His Presence, and had lunch with our dear friends, Rodney and Marce Johnson.
Baby Update: All is great- he's had the hiccups several times, and Tom installed our little munchkin's car seat yesterday! He's kicking and moving right now, as I write this! He'll be considered "full term" by the end of the week, so... he's ok to come any time now!

Baby Vidal, Your Room is Ready!
As we put the finishing touches on our nursery, we wanted to share the photos with you!
A few important notes:
- The green blanket on top of the changing table was hand knit by Baby Boy's Great Grandmother, Marion Cooper
- The Panda Bear + Pinocchio on the shelf both belonged to Tom when he was a baby. We recently received all his baby cloths/ blankets from his parents. All in perfect condition, ready for Baby Boy to use!
- Our changing table is a gift from Tom's parents
- Our rocking chair and crib are from Erik, our dear Santa Barbara friend
- Our bassinet is a family heirloom: used by Tracy, her dad Bill, cousin Will, and Uncle Perry!
In case you'd like to see what Baby looked like on his most recent ultrasound (today)...
it MAY help if you are an expert at those Magic Eye Puzzles.
Step 1: Squint your eyes VERY tightly
Step 2: Turn your head, so your right ear is touching your right shoulder
Step 3: Squint a little more, and use your imagination! Hopefully you'll NOW be able to enjoy this picture:

21 weeks and goin' strong!
This little guy may have posed for the camera to be sleeping, but he was VERY active during this morning's structural ultrasound. Tom was happy to see his son already training to be his running partner. The doctor remarked that his "tally-wacker" was unmistakable, and we also saw for ourselves--
Baby Boy is most certainly 100% boy!
Grandma Wanda thinks his facial features look like his daddy... we think so, too.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Our nursery is also coming right along... we're riding the waves of an ocean theme.
(Note: If you look carefully, you may also see some law books. Tom is insistent that our son be prepared to take the bar exam by the time he graduates high school).

A Size Chart + A Video
An update on Baby Boy's Size...
And... we had fun in Babies-R-Us last week!
Side note: Tom called the store after a successful uploading of our video had taken place on Youtube, and spoke to the manager. He thanked Tom for letting him know. Needless to say, we were disappointed when no offer to be in their next advertising campaign was put on the table, but we are enjoying our
3 minutes of fame nonetheless!

Some Baby News... and a New Wedding Video!
On the Baby Front...
This morning we met our OB doctor, and he has informed us that we are *definitely* having a BOY! His exact words (pointing to ultrasound): "You see here is his right leg, here is his left leg, and... here is his... 'other' leg." Of course, Tom has "known" all along we were having a boy.
According to "The Bump:"
Our baby now the size of a naval orange!
"Continuing the march toward normal proportions, baby's legs now out-measure his arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably can't feel the movements just yet."
On the Wedding Front...
This video was created by Tom's friends, Tim and Will.
Thanks, guys! :)

We have returned from the honeymoon, and...
...we've recently learned that we will be PARENTS!!!
Tom and I are ecstatic- Tracy because she has wanted to be a mom her entire life, and Tom because... he knows he's going to be the greatest dad ever!
The way we broke the news to our parents:
T & T: "We're calling tonight, because we wanted to let you know, we've decided not to get a dog after all."
Parents: "Oh, that's too bad! Why not?"
T & T: "Well, we thought we'd have a baby instead!"
